Our kiteboarding program teaches the PASA Level 1 training requirements for Kiteboarding.  There are 3 lessons that teach the required skills to be a safe & self-sufficient kiteboarder.  The Level 1 training program is the mandatory pre-requisite prior to kiteboarding solo & purchasing gear.  Level 1 students can safely launch & land their kites, water-relaunch in deep water, body drag upwind, ride consistently & understand how to ride upwind, demonstrate a self-rescue, and get back to the beach without assistance.  Level 1 students are competent & confident in the essential skills to become a kiteboarder. 

 

Lesson #1 - Ground School - $99 - 1.5 Hours   

The first step is learning to fly a trainer kite. The Ground School is included in all of our kiteboarding courses or can be completed as a stand alone introductory lesson.  Once basic skills have been learned on a trainer kite, the student then moves on to the real thing! 

Lesson #2 - Kite Control  - $229 - 1 Session - 3 Hours
This lesson teaches the mandatory, "need to know", safety methods to fly a full size inflatable "bow" kite.  Learn how to safely set up, launch, & land in shallow water and then graduate to real time conditions in deep water.  Students learn the pivotal water relaunching techniques, and practice the "power stroke" while "body-dragging" downwind safely with coach & boat at their side.  This lesson covers the most essential skills of kiteboarding, how to fly the kite!  

Lesson #3 - Ride - $229 - 1 Session - 3 Hours
Once a student can demonstrate full control of the kite alone it is time to get on a board and ride!  This lesson teaches the basic board riding skills required to get up and stay up riding. Students learn how to "water start", maintain power, and ride in both directions in real time conditions with "on the fly" coaching and boat support. 

Our kiteboarding courses teach the Level 1 training requirements in multiple sessions which can be completed over consecutive days or over the entire season.  Most students get the basics in just a few sessions.  Additional practice sessions boost your skills and make kiteboarding a reality.  If you are interested in "trying it out" choose a shorter course, if your goals are to enter the sport and purchase gear, the longer courses with multiple practice sessions are the best deal.  Whichever course you choose we customize your sessions to accomodate your skill level and achieve your individual goals.

Advanced reservations are strongly recommended to guarantee availability. All kiteboarding gear is included. Students required to bring wetsuit & booties.
